New COVID-19 Protocols and Hours for Gwinnett Family Dental Care

Our practice is open for all appointments and emergency patient care with modified office hours during the pandemic for the following hours: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm; Friday and Saturday 9:00 am – 4:00 pm; Closed on Wednesday.

As always, for patients with a dental emergency, we may be reached through our Emergency Answering Service outside of those hours by calling our office phone number.

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed many things about our day-to-day lives, including dental appointments. Your health and safety are important to us, and we share your concerns during these difficult times. We have reviewed the expert guidance and research from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and the ADA (American Dental Association) to make sure we are taking every measure to keep patients and staff safe, while still providing the same excellent customer care. Here’s what you may now expect when visiting our office:

Before your appointment:

  • To make sure patients are healthy, our team may call you to ask you some health-related questions before your scheduled visit.
  • To limit the number of patients in the waiting room, you may be asked to wait outside the office or in your car until the team is ready for you.
  • To help maintain social distancing guidelines, you will be asked to come to your office appointment alone. We make exceptions with appointments for children and for those individuals who require assistance. In those cases, one parent/guardian/health care worker may accompany the patient into the office for their appointment.
  • Additional cleaning and sanitation measures will be done after each patient leaves to prepare the office space for you. Each treatment area will be left unoccupied for at least 15 minutes between patients, and then cleaned with disinfectant cleaners.

At your appointment:

  • You will be asked to bring, and wear, a mask to your appointment. Masks should be worn at all times when in the office, except when undergoing dental treatment.
  • A member of our team will take your temperature using a non-touch infra-red thermometer, and the health-related questions will be repeated. All results will be kept confidential.
  • All staff and doctors undergo the same health screening each morning prior to the opening of the office, and must remain home should they have any symptoms of COVID-19.
  • We have removed high-touch items, such as magazines and children’s toys from our waiting rooms.
  • Your dental team will wear additional PPE (personal protective equipment) during your visit, which may consist of face masks, plastic face shields, goggles, gloves, surgical caps, and surgical gowns. We are still wearing the same friendly smiles under all that PPE!
  • Schedule your next appointment at Check-out. Your oral health is connected to your overall health, so one of the many ways you can stay healthy during these times is to keep up with you regular dental care. We are here for you.

After your appointment:

  • If you start to experience symptoms of COVID-19 within 1 week after your appointment, call the office to alert us, so we may conduct contact tracing.

We want you to feel comfortable when you come to our office for your appointment. Please reach out to us, and we’ll be happy to answer any questions you have about our new safety measures. See you soon!
Sincerely, Gwinnett Family Dental Care

  • The whole process is amazing! You don't sit in the waiting room for very long until somebody comes in to get you. And to my surprise The same lady that clean to my teeth the last time cleaned my teeth this time and she actually remembered me! She was super sweet and very gentle and was able to give me great feedback on what I need to do for the health of my teeth. When the dentist came in he also was very gentle and very thorough looking at my teeth and letting me know the best products to use on my teeth as far as tooth paste and mouthwash. Everything always seems very organized to the time you check in until the time you leave. Is it weird that I can actually say I kind of enjoyed my experience at the dentist? Lol

  • My insurance changed and I was also looking on changing dentist. I received a very thorough cleaning and check up. I finally was told about some things happening to my teeth that my old dentist office never told me about. Probably should have changed sooner. Would recommend this office to anyone. Very Happy

  • Pardon me for repeating myself, but Gwinnett Family Dental Care this is my review today, tomorrow and every single time! First, Dr. Jon - oh if every Dr. could be like this man the medical world would be absolutely a joy to go to see a Dr.! I am so happy to see him and talk with him with his kind, caring way. Talks and his help for so much over these many years- PRICELESS! Can I say I love my friend? Well, i do! I see Carime and Lauren and they have to figure it out who's turn it is and I told them why don't you just do it this way - one on left and one on the right! They thought it was great! My friends in the office staff you are wonderful, caring people too and greet me with a smile and a great HELLO and leaving it's a BYE, have a great day! There is no more to say, except Gwinnett Family Dental - get out there in all those Dr.'s offices and show them how customer concern, service and kindness is done! I wish all of you the JOY of the upcoming HOLIDAYS!

  • Broke a chunk of my back molar off. They were able to fit me in that day. I am super sensitive in the mouth and did not want to come. Dr. Green and her assistant Mirna were wonderful. They explained everything before and during the procedure. No pain!! They did a wonderful job drilling out the old filling, building up my tooth and placing a temporary crown. If I wanted them to stop for any reason, I just raised my finger and they both stopped immediately! Super gentle and patient! They also didn't try to get me to do extra procedures I didn't need or purchase extra stuff. Oh and the front office staff is great too! Super friendly and helpful!

  • I have been coming here for a couple of years. I LOVE THEM! So much so my husband is switching dentists to come here. I definitely recommend them. I haven't had to wait too long to be seen and everyone there has always been helpful.

  • Again had my teeth cleaned and more by the creme-de-la creme wonderful hygienist Careme, from the identical last name of the French chef "caremal" - the sweet , there may be some possible puns above. But seriously, she's the best hygienist I've ever had the good fortune to encounter, and I'm rather long of tooth (but don't give my exact age) a long line of such both in NYC and Atlanta. Gentle, cheerful and beyond thorough since it's evident that she's checking for things no other hygienist I've had has ever checked for. One needs a word beyond "superlative" to describe her and her work. I was also fortunate to have my teeth checked by Dr. John Klevansky, He finds the problems without painfully poking around, and it's always a good experience to be with him, and I've had a lot of work done by him.
